SECRETARY GENERAL

Hi! My name is Alice Canonico and I am a the Secretary General as well as a Junior in International Affairs. I am minoring in French, Russian, and Leadership and getting a certificate in Peace, Conflict and Security studies. On campus, I am also involved in the climbing and Russian clubs.

In my free time I like to ski, snowboard, climb, hike and pretty much do anything outdoors, I also love cooking and baking.

I am so excited to see this club grow and expand, I cannot wait to see what we can do. This club started as just a way for me to get a little more connect to the massive campus I found myself on and has become something I find myself looking forward to every week.

CO-SECRETARY OF HIGH SCHOOL CONFERENCES

Hello!

My name is Sarah Asres, and I’m one of the co-secretaries of High School Conferences. I’m currently a third year at CU Boulder, studying Philosophy and Mathematics. I’ve been involved in MUN since I began college, and through my experiences with CU MUN, I’ve been eager to see CU MUN grow and thrive!

In my free time, I enjoy ice skating with my friends. Although I go often, I’m still pretty bad at it. I also love going on walks, hikes, and grabbing coffee with others while discovering new places to visit. 

I am so excited to see where CU MUN goes in the future and so grateful to be a part of its development. Since joining CU MUN my freshman year, we’ve already grown so much, so I can’t wait to see the amazing things we tackle in the future!

UNDERSECRETARY

Hey all, my name is Clyde Carter III and I’m extremely pleased to be the Undersecretary General of the Model UN team here at the University of Colorado. I am a Sophomore pursuing degrees in International Affairs and Political Science, as well as a Spanish minor and a certificate in Peace, Conflict, and Security Studies (PACS).

In my free time, I like to walk, read, play video games, and lift weights. I’ve also recently discovered a love of cooking and a hatred of doing the dishes. I’m originally from Washington State, but have quickly fallen in love with the landscape and environment of Colorado in almost every way except for its selection of seafood.

I am eager to support the secretariat and the club in any way possible, as well as expand the club’s presence both within the student body and on campus in general. In the Model UN team here, I have found a welcoming community of hard-working people that I am invariably excited to meet with each week!

Secretary of Social Engagement

Hello everyone!
My name is Izzy Azad, and I’m excited to serve as the Secretary of Social Engagement this year! I’m a Sophomore at CU Boulder, majoring in International Affairs with minors in French, Business, and Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, as well as a certificate in Peace, Conflict, and Security (PACS).

I am deeply interested in all things related to international affairs. Outside of MUN, I am an active member of the Conference on World Affairs Politics & Media and International Affairs committees, as well as a member of the International Affairs club. I also volunteer as an advocate against sexual assault and domestic violence in our community.

Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I love to travel, hang out with my friends, ski, eat, and swim.

I’m looking forward to a dynamic and inclusive year at CUMUN, filled with activities that bring our members together, strengthen our connections, and build a vibrant, supportive community both on and off campus.

Hi! My name is Niyati Kuntumalla and I’m a Co-Secretary of High School Affairs. I’m a Sophomore double majoring in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology and Public Health with a minor in Leadership Studies. I’m also involved in the Presidents Leadership Class at CU.

In my free time I enjoy watching movies, cooking, painting, and spending time with my friends and family. I also love travelling and have lived on four continents so far!

I’m very excited to get to know everyone new in the club. I’m looking forward to planning High School Conferences and coordinating volunteering opportunities throughout the year. Model UN has been an important part of my life since middle school and I can’t wait to get more involved!

SECRETARY OF DIPLOMATIC ENGAGEMENT

Hello, my name is Shannyn Štimac-Knudsen, and I’m the Secretary of Diplomatic Engagement. I’m a junior majoring in Integrative Physiology, with minors in Spanish, Biomedical Engineering, and Biochemistry. I’m a Pre-Health student who is planning on going into Nursing & Cardiovascular Perfusion!

Outside of MUN, I spend my time drawing, playing piano, and working for various student-facing organizations on campus. I love talking about film and history.

I’m super excited to see where this club goes and expand our presence as a team across the state and for national conferences!
